Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988–Sec. 17A–Scope–Even in the cases covered by Sec. 17A of the Act, registration of FIR is not prohibited–Once the FIR is registered, the Investigation Officer would be required to seek the approval of the Appropriate Government before proceeding to undertake the investigation into the allegations.
