Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Sec. 190(1)(b)–Cognizance–Meaning of–Taking cognizance of an offence means the Magistrate must have judicially applied the mind to the contents of the complaint and indicates that the Magistrate takes judicial notice to an offence.
