Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Secs. 482 & 320–Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989–Sec. 3(i)(x)–Compromise between parties–Though the offence is not compoundable, yet the powers of Sec. 482 are independent of Sec. 320 and Court can exercise them to clog the proceedings on the basis of compromise–Proceedings quashed.
