Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988–Sec. 17A & 7–Requirement of previous approval–FIR reveals that the co-accused-constable pressurized the complainant at the instance of the petitioner to give the bribe for exonerating a person in the investigation carried out by the petitioner–Demanding and accepting of bribe from an accused while investigating into an FIR cannot be termed as the offence relatable to any recommendation made or decision taken by a public servant in discharge of his official functions and duties–Held, no previous approval was required before registering the FIR.
