Evidence Act, 1872–Sec. 27 [Corresponding Sec. 23 of BSA, 2023]–Essential ingredients of Section–
(i) The information given by the accused must be led to the discovery of the fact which is the direct outcome of such information,
(ii) Only such portion of the information given as is distinctly connected with the said recovery is admissible against the accused, and
(iii) The discovery of the facts must relate to the commission of such offence.
