Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881–Sec. 138–Conviction–Fine of Rs. five lakh–Reduction–Cheque amount was Rs. 2,50,000/- –Though the Court is empowered to impose the higher amount than the cheque amount yet in view of the circumstances of the case, the amount is reduced up to Rs. 2,80,000/-.
