Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881–Sec. 138–Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Sec. 357–Sentence in default of payment of compensation–If merely an order of directing compensation is passed, it would be totally ineffective–Purpose of Sec. 357(3) of Code would be frustrated if the recourse of Sec. 421 is allowed to be taken–Trial Court was quite right in passing the order of default sentence.
