Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881–Sec. 143-A–Applicability of provisions–Provisions of Sec. 143-A are prospective in nature and can be applied only in the matter where the offence was committed after commencement of provisions–In the instant case, the complaint was lodged on 24-08-2018 wherein it was stated that the cheque was dishonoured on 13-07-2018–Provisions of Sec. 143-A came in application w.e.f. 1st Sept., 2018–Impugned order of directing 20% amount cannot be sustained.
