Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989–Sec. 3 (1)(v)–Conviction–Sustainability–Investigation of instant case was committed by ASI which was illegal–Rule 7 provides that investigation must have been performed by a police officer, not below rank of Deputy Superintendent–Conviction and sentence deserve to be set aside.
