Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881–Secs. 138 & 87–Acquittal from the offence–Appreciation of–Fifth zero in the column of mentioning of rupees has been inserted subsequently–Difference of ink is very much conspicuous–This fact is also found corroborated with the report of private expert–As per provisions of Sec. 87, any material alteration renders the negotiable instrument void as against anyone–Held, acquittal was justified.
