Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Sec. 154–FIR–Delay–Effect–When the FIR is delayed, in the absence of proper explanation, the Courts must be on guard and test the evidence meticulously to rule out the possibility of embellishments in the prosecution story in as much as delay gives the opportunity for deliberation and guesswork.
