Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1923–Secs. 3 & 30–Expiry of driving licence before the date of the accident–Whether the employer would be liable for paying the compensation ?–In the instant case, even the basic care of verifying the driving licence was taken by the employer, he can not wash his responsibility of not checking up whether the driver has renewed his licence–Licence was not renewed for a period of three years and that too in respect of a commercial vehicle like a truck–Lack of reasonable care by the appellant–employer–Liability of compensation was rightly fastened on him.
