Penal Code, 1860–Sec. 364-A–Ransom–Meaning of–Ransom is money or any consider-ation which is demanded or paid for release of a captive, prisoner or a detenue–Even if an individual is kidnapped or abducted for extracting money which may be due to the abductor, it will fall under the defination of ransom as the amount paid or to be paid is for the release of the captive.
