Criminal Jurisprudence–Two cases arising out of the same transaction, particulary involving rival versions of a single occurrence–Failure to try simultaneously or in a co-ordinated manner–These ought to be tried together or in close proximity by the same Court so as to ensure a comprehensive and consistent evaluation of the evidence–The failure to adopt such a course has resulted in a fragmented appreciation of the incident–Consequently, the nature and extent of injuries sustained by both sides were not subjected to holistic scrutiny–However, such lapse, in absence of demonstrable prejudice, does not vitiate the conviction recorded.
