Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954–Sec 7/16–Conviction–Appropriate sentence–Case relates to the year 1999–Petitioner has been sentenced to undergo for six months RI with fine of Rs. 1000/–Appropriate Govt. is empowered to commute the sentence of S.I.–Held, petitioner is directed to deposit the sum of Rs. 6,000/- as fine in commutation of the sentence–Thereafter State Govt. will pass the appropriate order.
