Penal Code, 1860–Secs. 420, 467, 468, 471 & 120-B–Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989–Sec. 3(1)(f) & 3(2)(va)–Prayer to quash the FIR–Trial Court partly allowed the application for compounding of the offence and compounded the offence u/s. 420–Offence under the provisions of SC/ST Act also can be quashed with the caution that the compromise between the parties must be with free will–Held, proceedings are liable to be quashed.
