Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023–Sec. 503–[Corresponding Sec. 457 of Cr.P.C., 1973]–Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985–Seizure of amount of Rs. 14,00,330/- recovered along with the contraband–Denial from release–Valuable property seized during the investigation, particularly cash ought not to be retained in the idle custody of the State unless there is a demonstrable necessity or clear nexus with the offence in question–In the present case, no such necessity or linkage has been established by the prosecution–Directed to release the amount upon furnishing a supurdgi-nama of equivalant value of the satisfaction of the learned Trial Court–Further, direction issued.
