Representation of People Act, 1951–Sec. 117–Scope–Condition of depositing security for the cost of election petition at the time of presentation of the election petition is mandatory, however, the procedure for deposit of the same is directory–If the security for the cost of an election petition is not
deposited at the time of its presentation before the High Court, the option left with the Court is to dismiss the election petition–Election petition deserves to be dismissed.
