Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Secs. 320 & 482–Distinction between both provisions –Held, in the compounding of offence, powers of criminal Court is circumscribed by the provisions of Sec. 320 and Court is guided solely and squirely thereby–Whereas formation of opinion by the High Court for quashing a criminal prosecution is guided by the material on record as to whether the ends of justice would justify such exercise of power ultimate consequence may be acquittal or dismissal of the indictment.
