Penal Code, 1860–Secs. 457, 380, 411 & 414 [Corresponding Secs. 331(4), 305, 317(2) & 317(5) of BNS, 2023]–Conviction–Reduction of sentence–Incident took place in the year 1998 and accused-petitioners have undergone for 52 days–They suffered mental agony and trauma of protracted trial–It would be appropriate to reduce the sentence up to the period of already undergone by maintaining the fine.
