Customs Act, 1962–Sec. 135(1)–Conviction–Reduction of sentence– Case pertains to the year 1992–Petitioner was aged 46 years and at present, he is arround 79 years of age–He suffered the agony of protracted trial, spaning over a period of more than 33 years–It was the first criminal case registered against him and he has not been shown to be indulged in any other criminal case–He remained incarcerated for a period more than one month–Sentence is reduced up to the period of already undergone.
