Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Secs. 184 & 223–Jurisdiction to try the case–Appellant was charged for different offences by using the powers under Sec. 221 as the nature of offence was not clear–Further, he was being tried with the accused who were charged for receiving or retaining the stolen property–Investigation agency found that there was a gang of offenders engaged in stealing, receiving, retaining and transferring the property–A large number of persons were charged for the same offence–They could be tried together in accordance with Secs. 184 & 223–Furthermore, no case of the appellant that he suffered any prejudice–Held, objection in regard to jurisdiction is liable to be negated.
