Passports Act, 1967–Sec. 6–Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Sec. 482–Court below declined to issue the direction for issuance of passport–Justification–Petitioner is a senior citizen, seeking to visit abroad to meet his children–Accused may or may not specify the period of stay and place of visit, but in an appropriate case, Court can still consider his request and pass the order in this regard–Trial Court committed error in rejecting the application–Impugned order quashed and set aside and petitioner is given the liberty to make a fresh application before the competent authority.
