Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Sec. 200 [Corresponding Sec. 223 of BNSS, 2023]–Scope–Protest petition filed by the complainant against the negative final report before the Magistrate can be treated as a private complaint, and, therefore, the procedure for taking cognizance on complaint would be applicable even in the case of the protest petition.
