Registration Act, 1908–Sec. 17(IA)–Transfer of Property Act, 1882–Sec. 53-A–Scope–Document containing contract to transfer the right, title or interest in an immovable property for consideration is required to be registered, if a party wants to rely on the same for the purposes of Sec. 53-A of the Act to protect it’s possession over the property–If it’s is not registered document, the only consequence provided in the provision is to declare that such document shall have no effect for the purposes of said Section 53-A.
