Consumer Protection Act, 1986–Sec. 2(1)(d)–Appellants purchased the machine for their photography business–Purpose for purchasing the machine is exclusively for earning the livelihood by means of self-employment–Averments in the complaint upto effect that the machine is run by the help of operator and helper–Averments made in complaint appears to be an exaggerated version with a view to getting more compensation–Nothing on record to show that they wanted the machine to be installed for a commercial purpose and not exclusively for the purpose of earning their livelihood by means of self-employment–They fall in the purview of consumer–Judgment of State Commission restored.
