Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973–Sec. 227 [Corresponding Sec. 250 of BNSS, 2023]–Order of discharge–Effect of–When a order of discharge is passed, the person discharged ceases to be an accused–The position of a discharged accused is on a higher pedestal than that of an accused who is acquitted after a full trial–After an accused is discharged u/s. 227, he is set liberty as he ceases to be an accused.
