Criminal Trial–Investigation–What is ?–Held, it consists following five steps-
(i) Proceedings to the spot,
(ii) ascertainment of facts and circumstances of the case,
(ii) discovery and arrest of suspected offender,
(iv) collection of evidence relating to the commission of the offence which may consist of examination of various persons including the accused reducing them into writing,
(v) proceed with the search of places or seizure of things considered necessary for the investigation to proceeded at the time of trial and formation of the opinion as to whether on the material collected there is a case to place the accused before a Magistrate for trial and thereafter taking necessary steps for the said purpose by filing the charge sheet u/s. 173.
