Penal Code, 1860–Sec. 464–Scope for committing the offence–In the instant case, the police officer made incorrect and false entries in rojnamcha–Whether he committed the offence of making a false document ?–Held, no–Though the false entries were made by him yet he was an authentic person for making entries in rojnamcha–For bringing the offence in the purview of Sec. 464, it is essential to establish that the false document was created with a view to make it appear that it was made by some other person who did not make, sign, seal or execute it or that it was made, signed, sealed or executed at a time when it was not so done.
