Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988–Sec. 17A–Three factors of Section–The accused is-
(a) a public servant,
(b) the alleged offence is relatable to any recommendation made or decision taken by such public servant, and
(c) while acting or purporting or in connection to act in the discharge of his official duty,
In case, these three conditions are fulfilled, then the police is prevented from initiating investigation of the offence unless the appropriate government grants a sanction against the alleged accused.
